Directions: For this assignment, you are going to create a (very!) short presentation about a disease effecting the digestive system. You will be working with a partner, and each group will be assigned a digestive disorder. In your presentation you will need to explain the following:
- What the disease is.
- Causes of the disease.
- Symptoms of the disease.
- Triggers for the disease (especially food triggers).
- Treatments for the disease (if treatment exists).
- Effectiveness of the treatments.
- How to prevent the disease (if prevention is possible).
- How the digestive system of a person with the disease differs from the digestive system of a “normal” person.
Your presentation should be short (approximately 5 minutes), and both you and your partner should speak during it. You may choose a disease from the following list, or come up with a different digestive disease that interests you.
