Directions: For this assignment you are going to read two articles about whether or not viruses are alive. You are then going to conduct an on-line discussion forum with your classmates evaluating the evidence for an against considering viruses alive. You must use the information in the articles in order to support what you say on the discussion forum. You should put two posts on the forum (on the Grade 8.2 Schoology page, linked here). Both posts should be at least one paragraph but no more than two paragraphs in length. At least one of the posts should be in response to another person’s post. See the Discussion Forum Rubric to understand how you will be assessed.
Articles: Read the articles below and then add your comments to the discussion forum. You might want to consider writing them in a word-processing program first (in order to spell check) and then cutting and pasting them into a post. You should post by leaving a comment where it says “Write a Comment”, and you can also post by replying to others’ comments. Remember that the discussion forum is here.
