Cell Structure – Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic

Directions: Prokaryotic cells include bacteria, which have very different structures from eukaryotic cells which include animals, plants and fungi.  Prokaryotic cells do not contain most of the organelles found in eukaryotic cells, including the nucleus.  For this assignment, you will use the animation of the bacteria cell linked below to create a table comparing and contrasting prokaryotic (bacteria) cells with eukaryotic (animal and plant) cells.  You should use the information that you read about for the “Cell Structure – Animals and Plants” tutorial to help you create the list.  Make sure that you include sufficient detail in your table.  Don’t just explain what bacteria cells do not contain, also explain what they do contain that animals and plants don’t.
