Directions: For this assignment you are going to be working with a partner designing and implementing an experiment looking at your and your partners’ work and power. You have already conducted an experiment calculating work and power of stair-climbing. Now you will be using what you know about those two concepts to design an experiment looking at other activities and their effect on your work and power.
You will need to develop the following with your group to conduct an effective experiment:
- Research Question (Be creative here! How can you alter conditions to study work and power?)
- Hypothesis
- Background information that supports your hypothesis
- Variables (5 increments of your IV!)
- Procedure
Once you have finished your experimental design, you will be conducting your experiment and collecting data. Remember that you might need to do some calculations to determine things like force, work and power!
You will be creating a group poster or electronic lab report, and you will be assessed according to Investigation and Communication. See the rubric here.
